Gaja Ca'marcandai Bolgheri
This wine derives its name from Ca'Marcanda, the winery. Ca'Marcanda is the Piedmontese term for 'house of endless negotiations' and it refers to the many hours that Angelo Gaja spent convincing the property's previous owners to sell the estate to him. This vineyard is from one of the stoniest sites of the Ca'Marcanda estate in Castegneto Carducci (Bolgheri).
TASTING NOTESOpens with floral aromas of wild rose and violet, then it turns into a more earthy bouquet with hints of maritime pine, eucalyptus, roots and wet stones. The palate is fresh and juicy, with notes of red and black fruits, raspberry, wild strawberry and mulberry. It has creamy, smooth tannins.
