Wayfarer Vineyard 'Wayfarer' Pinot Noir 2016
Wayfarer was founded as a secluded farmstead more than 40 years ago, before its locale was defined as the now coveted Fort Ross Seaview AVA. In 1989, Jayson Pahlmeyer's winemaker, Helen Turley, discovered the site for sale down the road from her Marcassin vineyard. She introduced Pahlmeyer, declaring it destined to become 'a premium site for Pinot Noir in the world'
REGIONSonoma Coast, California, USA
TASTING NOTESThis estate-grown beauty is succulent and supple, with a tense body of bright wild strawberry, crushed rock, dried lavender and Asian spice. Robustly rich and deeply layered in flavour and texture, it finishes in a gorgeous dabble of white pepper.
FOOD PAIRINGElegant enough to drink on its own, this Pinot Noir is perfect for light meats, poultry, game and fowl. Also excellent with fattier fish (salmon and tuna) as well as mushroom-based dishes and truffles.
